Written From the Heart

His voice was warm and tender as he read his personal vows to her. His choice of words were far from being cliché at all. He truly loved her from the heart. It was ten years ago to the exact day that they began dating. She was just recently crowned as the new Miss Kauai Filipina. They would spend the next five years apart, more than 2,000 miles away from each other. She, to California, to attend Azusa Pacific University and he, to Hilo, to attend the University of Hawaii. Unlike many couples, their relationship withstood the hardship of distance and time. Yet, like many successful couples, their relationship withstood the ups and downs that every relationship inevitably goes through. It was with these thoughts in mind that he undoubtedly penned his vows to her that early morning.

It was now mid-day and the sun shone gently on their faces as they both stood facing each other. He held his paper firm in his hand as he read his vows to her with utmost sincerity and genuineness. His words ran deep and he meant every bit of it. With tears welled up in her eyes, she held her hand over her mouth and began to sob. It is moments like these that makes us stop in our tracks and pause to reflect on the real reason of why we are there in the first place. True love. Torquato Tasso said it so eloquently in his famous quote, “True love cannot be found where it does not exist, nor can it be denied where it does.”

To Christine & Ador,
You both have undeniably found true love in each other. We heard it when you said your vows to one another, we saw it when we noticed how you looked into each others eyes during your first dance, and we felt it when you both got emotional at the first sight of each other during the processional.  Thank you so much for this privilege of not only photographing your engagement and wedding but also for allowing us into your lives for the past year! We wish you both nothing but the best that married life has to offer!
With Love,
Myrna & Brandon
